MARIHUANA!?! I AM A MISSIONARY SIR?!?

I am back again and still alive.

This week was a tough week, but super fun week. Started this week off with meeting our friend Luan. Luan is only 10 years old, and he loves the Gospel. Maybe because he is only 10 years old and things sound cool to 10 year olds kids, but he told us he wants to be a missionary. However, it is a little tough because we have not been able to talk to his family...until one day. This day we were talking with him and he left, we did not know whether to leave or to stay. 30 seconds later, his mom came out and didn't realize we were still there. We were able to talk with her for a bit and she told me, "Elder Ressel, you are weird." I was like uhhh what did I do? She told me that I have this funny energy, that I smiled at everything and that I was just this funny 19 year old kid. Which is facts because I am weird. However, she told me that it helped her relax because we aren't these weird american kids trying to convert every single person. However, it was super cool to see how a weird kid can make someone feel more comfortable.

Then we went to the prison where something weird always happens. This random guy tells us to come with him to his house. Say less. We went over and maybe it was not the best of ideas. The guy does not speak Spanish and he has some weird friends. There is this one guy that lives by the prison that carries 3 knives in the back of his pants. Super weird and funny. However, he saw us and came over. He had this plant in his hands and told us it was marihuana. It wasn't, just some random plant. He then starts talking to me again and pulls out some pills and I asked if that was for his health. It wasn't what he told me. He then pulled out some crumbled paper and inside of that was marihuana. He then proceeded to roll a joint in my face and smoke it. I asked him what he was doing and he said nothing. Moral of the story is that the people by the prison are crazy.

We had zone conference and it was super fun to talk with our mission president about our area and get some more advice on how we can do better in our area. However, I slept on the floor for 2 days because we had other elders stay with us. I love sleeping on tile floors, it is one of my favorite things to do.

That is about it for me this week. I hope you all had a great spring break and kill the end of the school year.

From your favorite,

Elder Ressel
