I ASKED FOR AN ADVENTURE...I AM GETTING ONE!?!
WHAT HAPPENED TO ELDER RESSEL?!? WELL LET ME TELL YOU. I WAS FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE HERE IN THE JUNGLE. I GOT SURROUNDED ONE DAY WALKING IN THE STREETS BY THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE. THEY TOOK MY HOSTAGE AND TRY TO FEED ME TO THE JAGUARS. HOWEVER, WHAT THEY DID NOT KNOW IS THAT THEY ARE DEALING WITH THE BEST MISSIONARY EVER AND I STARTED PREACHING FACTS TO THEM AND THEY LET ME GO BECAUSE OF MY AMAZING WORDS... nah I just went to the temple. We had to change our P-day to last thursday because we went to the temple, so I did not write an email... SORRY
Now you all are probably wondering about this title. Well let me explain, My companion right now only has 2 transfers left in his mission, and this was my 3rd transfer here in capaita. So we both knew that I was going to get moved to a different area. Now ever since I have gotten here, I have always wanted to go to the actual jungle jungle. Not saying that I am not in the jungle... but I want to see the jaguars and the monkeys. Well I didn't get that exactly. I am getting transferred to a place called Pedro Juan, and Pedro Juan is on the border of Brazil. So, I have to take an 8 hour bus ride to this place and not to mention I have to start learning some Portuguese now. We got to put a pause on this whole Spanish thing for a bit and go learn some Portuguese. However for all my boys, I GET TO HAVE BRAZILIAN STEAKHOUSE EVERYDAY NOW. I am pretty hyped about that.
However, we did go to the temple this week and it was super dope. The Temple is super peaceful and the Garden is so sick. They just reopened it and we were all super excited to be able to walk through the temple.
I gave a talk yesterday in church that I had to prepare for in only an hour and I pretty much just winged the whole thing. I literally can not believe I winged a talk in Spanish for 25 mins. I remembered when I finished my talk and I went to go back and sit, and I thought to myself that I just spoke straight Spanish for the last 25 mins and everyone (I think) understood me.
I am grateful for my time in Capaita and all the people that I met that changed my life forever. However, I got to bounce and go learn some Portuguese and go change the lives of the people in Pedro Juan. Duces Capaita, Hola Pedro Juan.
I love you all and hope that you all are enjoying the playoffs for football... Patrick Mahomes is the goat.
From your favorite,
Elder Ressel
