I AM SORRY MOTHER NATURE, I DID NOT MEAN WHAT I SAID!! INSANE REACTION

MOTHER NATURE, I. AM. SORRY. I DIDN'T MEAN IT.

Oh man, I am back once again from...the jungle

We had a very nice solid week. Had some funny stories and once again, things that made me rethink everything that I knew before.

Sooo, you guys remember the story from last week? Just with my luck, we ran into him once again. This day, mother nature decided that she wanted to fold the streets of Paraguay and give us crazy rain. I could you not, the day before, I was complaining about how we never get rain and it is either hot or freezing. See here, in Paraguay, there is no such thing as storm drains. So, the rain just folds the streets. Elder Turner and I were walking to a lesson and I saw the man from last week. I looked straight ahead and just prayed that he was not going to see us...yeah...he saw us. He starts talking to us and once again, asks why we have not visited him yet. We were by a store and the store owner asked if we could take him to the bus stop because he was being loud and "scaring" the people I guess. We agreed and took him. Once we got to the bus stop, he sat there in the pouring rain crying. I felt really bad, and since we were going to pass his house anyways I convinced my companion to let him come with us and take him home....maybe not the best of ideas. You have to jump down to get back to the street from the bus stop, and since it is wet it is very muddy and slippery. I bet you can already imagine what happened. When the man jumped down, he completely slipped and rolled all the way down into the running water from the street. I ran down, jumped in the water and tried to pick him up from the street. Once I finally got him up, HE FELL AGAIN. TWICE. I just stood there soaked and in disbelief. I am muddy, wet, dirty and trying to figure out why the heck this is happening. After, we can say quite some time, we got him home safely to his family. Even though that was painful, I was glad that he was safe and not in any harm.

There are a bunch of random little things here that are special in Paraguay. Lunch is like dinner in America. So, the schools actually let the kids out and they roughly have 3 hours to hang out with their family. I have no idea what is so special about lunch, but yeah, they have school from like 7:30-11:30 and then go back at like 2 and finish at 5.

The buses here are like school buses. I had to go to Asuncion to finish my last bit of training and I stood on a bus for 2 and a half hours. It was horrible. The buses are so funny though. They have random words and drawings on them.

There is a drink called terere. When I first heard about it back in Kansas, they described it as like fruit herbs and water. It sounded super good. However, it is not even close. It is like grass and these random herbs and they put hot water in it. It is terrible. I do not know how they like it.

Guess what guys, I might be getting my first baptismal date this week baby. We have been working with this family for a while now and I think they might accept the date we gave them. It is so cool to see the growth in people when they dedicate their time to try to grow closer to our heavenly father.

I have some pretty solid pictures this week I think. Tell me what you guys think of them.

Love you all and miss you all everyday
From your favorite,
Elder Ressel
