MAN IN UNKNOWN AREA?!? WHAT WILL HE DO?!?

No place to run. No place to hide. Stuck in the jungle. What will I do? Yeah to be honest I barely even understand anything that is happening here, so I am still trying to figure that part out.

Hello my people. How is it going?

So, I made it safely to Paraguay. My day only started at 3:45 A.M and ended at 2:00 A.M. Not to mention 10 hours of flying. However, we made it safely here.

Sooooo, about Paraguay. It is crazy. I don't know where to begin. I am in Capiata. Funny enough it is one of the poorer areas and more Guandi speaking sides of Paraguay. Lucky me I speak zero Guandi and barely any Spanish. Oh, if you guys could see my face when they just start spitting Spanish and Guandi at me. I can only catch a few words in every sentence and just have to guess what we are talking about. My brain is done by the end of the day.

There are so many dogs and cats that just roam around. I always want to pet them, but I have no idea what they have on them. Another animal that roams around are vacas. Yeah District 13H. Vacas. Cows are everywhere here. I had a battle with one. I'll send the video with this email.

We helped an older woman with her lawn one day. I asked the question, "Are we cutting her grass?" My companion said yes we are. I then asked, "where is the lawn mower?" My companion then began to say, "Oh, lawn mowers are not a thing here. We cut grass with machetes!"  I was like no way. He got to be joking. Yeah, he was not. So, I cut the grass with a machete. Thought I never be grateful for lawn mowers.

My companion's name is Elder. Turner. He is from Canada and has been on his mission for 21 months. So lucky me, he knows tons of Spanish and helps me a ton.

In Paraguay, you do not knock on doors. You clap to let the person know that you are here. It is one of the funniest things that I have ever done. The people here are super kind and super humble. They do not have a lot to offer, but love to chat to us. They always laugh at my Spanish because I talk like I am from America. Our lessons are never inside homes, because the homes are so small. So, we have them outside on chairs. Once again, it is super hard for me to understand what is happening half the time.

How is it going for everyone? What has everyone been up to? I would love to hear from each one of you guys.

Love you all and miss you
From your favorite,
Elder Ressel
