IM LATINO!?! INSANE REACTION!!

You guys miss me yet? Oh trust me I know you guys do.

Almost a month of being a missionary now. It is crazy how fast time has gone by. The whole process of getting to Mexico City was very smooth. Besides trying to get from the Mexico City airport to the MTC training center. We had to wait 3 hours to get picked up from the airport. I wanted to cry.

But holy cow, Mexico is so awesome. The MTC Training Center here is so beautiful. The weather is amazing here. Constantly 80 degrees and sunny. The mornings are my favorite. Walking out of our casa and looking at the city is so cool.

There has been so much that has happened that I'm going to try and hit everything.

Here in your district you have a district leader. I totally thought I was going to get it. I had the longest interview out of everyone talking about all these amazing things that have happened in our lives. To say the least, I didn't get it. Which I was happy about because I did not want to wake up any earlier than I already do to go to meetings. I got called to be a senior companion which means nothing here.

The food here really scared me at first(and sometimes still does). However, over the cross of time it got so much better. The only thing I hate the most is breakfast. BRO, THEY BE SERVING CLUB SANDWICHES FOR BREAKFAST. WHO WANTS THAT AT 7:45 A.M. NOT ME. I will say though, they served us one day tomales and I loved them even though it was 7:45 A.M. My district wonders why I get so excited when I see they serve chicken for our meals and why I get so much. Well, you guys already know why. I LOVE CHICKEN.

I lost my voice one day and I sounded like a dying frog. When I would try to speak Spanish, it would just not work. It was really funny.

We have 4 people in a room. My companion and I, and 2 other kids from a different district. They are polar opposites, but the funniest kids alive. Elder Miles' only reason for serving a mission was because his girlfriend was going to serve one too, and he did not want to be lonely for the next 2 years. Elder Miles is serving in Honduras (where my dad served his mission). Elder Bailey is really nervous and scared to be here. But we have helped him settle down and he has grown to have a blast. The best way I can describe Elder Bailey is that he talks and acts like he is 60 years old, but he is 18.

There is a lot of drama here at the MTC. You are probably thinking how is that possible. Well, it is. We have something called, "the situation." I guess a guy and a girl got a little too close to each other and yeah. Now we have a problem. Some elders drew their names into concrete that was drying and did some other things and they got called out by name in front of our devotional and said that their flights to where they were going got canceled. That was crazy. Bunch of other things that I will not go into detail.

My Spanish has grown so much. Still I'm not great, but I can give a basic lesson in Spanish without using notes. Our teachers talk in Spanish all the time and at first it was so hard to understand, I would be lying if I said I don't struggle anymore However, my hearing and speaking have got much better.

We play a lot of basketball and volleyball. So thankfully I am decent at both of those sports and don't make a fool out of myself.

People are starting to hit that buzzcut phase right now. I refuse to go back down that path. You will not catch me buzzing my hair off. But, the people who cut hair here are not good. So other Elders brought their haircutting stuff and cut other Elders hair.

The best spiritual experience I have had is when we read in Alma in The Book of Mormon. Alma 26 talks a lot about missionary work, but it is tough and hard. However, verse 30 was my favorite which talks about how our trials, adversities and disappointments are given to us for a reason, and that reason is to "help a soul." I know through everything I have been through I can be a light to people in the dark. To give them hope when none seems to be there. To give them a hand when they need it the most.

Enough about me, thank you guys for sending emails throughout these weeks. I have not been able to respond, but I read them and love them. I will try to respond to everyone today.

Love you all and miss you all
From your favorite,
Elder Ressel
